Educational Philosophy
Today, more then ever, It is crucial to becoming an open-minded, effective citizen of the world. Culturally relevant and 21st century teaching methods lives at the core of my teaching identity for this reason. My goal is, not only to teach tolerance and critical consciousness, but foster an environment of learning unafraid of all boundaries. I wish to achieve this with the moderated use and manipulation of various technologies indivisible from everyday life. As an International teaching student I was provided with an unique experience to allow me to broaden and explore my philosophy. Teaching at a international Title 1 school has continued me along this journey.

Technology Integration |
Creative Writing & Exploration |
ESOL Differentiation |
Technology Education is my primary area of focus. This goes beyond utilization of smart board technology with the simple pursuit of enhancing lesson execution. With ITSE standards as a foundation, I plan with higher order thinking engagement as my ultimate goal. This integration is paramount to meet and exceed demands of the current generation, both inside and outside of the classroom. Providing the same opportunities for ELL is at the base of my personal pedagogical growth in this area. .

In juxtaposition to my technology focus, my lessons emphasize creative writing . I seek to revitalize the love of writing through daily implementation of a writing workshop interwoven with state standards. The benefits of a properly executed workshop range from honing of language arts skills to complex reading comprehension and the ability to create meaningful connections academically & personally.

Cultural engagement is at the heart of my educational philosophy so I jumped at the chance to teach in Ecuador & an international Title 1 school. With an entire classes of ELL, my whole teaching strategy shifted. Having to now accommodate varying levels of English language acquisition from a vast array of languages, I was made hyper-aware of every minutia of my teaching execution. Clear, precise, data driven, and multi modal instruction became the heart of my planning.
